Bank clients must register on the agent banking platform by July 7, 2024, according to a directive from the Corporate Affairs Commission (CAC).
The Commission in a statement on its X page Tuesday, said the Registrar-General/CEO of CAC Ishaq Magaji said the directive was in line with Section 863(1) of CAMA and the CBN guidelines for Agent Banking, 2013.
Furthermore, the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) aligning with Section 863 of CAMA 2020, has also instructed all non-individuals on the Agent Banking Authorization to register their firms with CAC.

Although, all Point of Sale (PoS) terminal, whether it be an agent, merchant, or individual, was charged to register with CAC prior to opening for business in accordance with this order.
In order to spur economic growth, the Registrar-General challenged banks to guarantee complete adherence to the law.
