The Lions of Teranga made the perfect start when star man, Sadio Mane, teed up an unmarked Pape Gueye who rifled his shot into the bottom corner from inside the box.

Gambia tried to fight back the defending champions after they created some good opportunities in the frist half with Musa Barrow curling a free-kick into the side netting while Ali Sowe headed over following a corner.

But any hope of salvaging something was dealt a huge blow before half-time when Ebou Adams was shown a red card for a studs up challenge after a VAR check.

This was the scent of blood the Lions needed as they made their man advantage count when Ismaïla Sarr threaded the ball through to Lamine Camara who timed his run perfectly to score with a low shot.

The young midfielder was not yet done as he put in what is surely going to compete for goal of the tournament by scoring a wonder strike from outside the box to make it 3-0.

Who is Lamine Camara?

Camara is a Senegalese midfielder born on 1 January 2004 and currently plays for French side FC Metz.

In February 2023, Camara signed for French side Metz on a three-and-a-half year deal and on 15 April, he made his debut, coming off the bench in the 89th minute, in a 3–0 victory over Bordeaux in Ligue 2.

He later that year, on 22 October, he scored his first goal in Ligue 1 from his own half, 58 metres (190 ft) away from goal, in a 2–1 away defeat against Monaco.

Senegal currently top their group with three points and they will later face the Indomitable Lions of cameroon.
