Nigerian Music Producer and Recording Artist who is also a professional Hair stylist Felix Omozuwa AKA Tom Fereecz Papa Gabrielle, on Monday 13 of April shared rice to help those in need as the French President is said to be extending the lock-down to several more weeks ahead. The young philanthropist said his act of solidarity is a civil social responsibility not because he is too rich or too buoyant to carry out such act of charity, but in times like this, we need to look out for each other.
According to Tom, he believe in collective effort to support each other through difficult situations and if all men of good will would take measures to help in this period of the lock-down it will really help. Tom is urging individuals to show concern for the interest of others and not only to think of themselves or their families alone, he believes there are a lot of people who need help and in any little portion that anyone can afford to help will be better.
“If we can extend our individual love for each other in hard times like this it will go a long way to sustain people who need food and other items to survive the lock-down, you don’t have to wait until you accumulate wealth before you can give back to the society, my reason for doing what i did today is not to say i have too much for myself and my family, its just to show my own compassion and willingness to share the burden of the situation.
I have always had a spot for solidarity and doing things for the greater good, and i genuinely have a generous heart but sometimes i have this negative thought about public criticism, people who may think my act of kindness or solidarity is for show-off, there are people who may feel like doing good to others translate to showing that you are feeling like you are a big boy or rich man, but to me, its just to show that i care about others and not the other way around. So today i decide not to let the bad energy keep me down, even though the rice i gave away was little, i am happy that i didn’t allow the public criticism to defeat me, and i employ others to do the same, nothing is too small, because there are people who have needs to meet and cannot open up to others about their needs out of shame while others have things they like to give to people but they are scared of public opinion. This is such a time to not be afraid of public opinion, instead let’s do our own part”.
