Tech4Dev, a leading technology-focused organization, has unveiled Taltrix, a groundbreaking business process outsourcing (BPO) social enterprise, with an ambitious vision to become Africa’s largest outsourcing company by 2030. The initiative aims to provide employment opportunities for 100,000 young Africans over the next seven years, contributing to the continent’s economic growth.
In collaboration with Impact Hub Lagos and Univelcity, and hosted by Microsoft Nigeria, the Taltrix BPO project received support from key industry players, including Microsoft, Meta, and the American Tower Corporation in Nigeria. The Ondo State Information Technology Agency also expressed its endorsement for the initiative.
Joel Ogunsola, CEO of Taltrix, outlined the grand vision, stating, “Over the next seven years, we want to directly employ 100,000 people, starting from Nigeria and across Africa. We believe that the outsourcing sector has the probability to grow to become a $200 billion sector on the continent.” Ogunsola’s optimism stems from Nigeria’s youthful, large, and dynamic population, coupled with the thriving technology and creative ecosystem that will create an ideal environment for BPO industry incubation.

Taltrix’s strategic alignment with the government’s commitment to outsourcing, as a job creation avenue, further reinforces its potential for success. The Nigerian administration’s bold commitment to enabling the employment of a million people through outsourcing resonates with Taltrix’s overarching vision.
Oladiwura Oladepo, Executive Director of Tech4Dev, emphasized the broader impact of Taltrix on the continent’s economic landscape. “Taltrix is not just about filling job roles; we are investing in human capital development to reduce unemployment and underemployment, which will, in turn, drive economic growth and shape a brighter future for Africa. We are also building a bridge to connect underserved and underrepresented demographics of young people with globally in-demand opportunities for skilled professionals.”
Beyond job creation, Taltrix aims to address Nigeria’s internal migration challenges, offering a solution to the decentralization of urban migration. Solape Hammond, CEO of Impact Hub Lagos, highlighted the platform’s potential for nationwide inclusivity.
“Taltrix excites me with its potential for nationwide inclusivity. It focuses on building communities everywhere by providing essential infrastructure like power, internet, and engaging young people. This approach can decentralize urban migration, allowing young Nigerians to thrive in their communities with the resources they need.”
As Taltrix sets its sights on transforming the outsourcing landscape in Africa, stakeholders anticipate the positive ripple effects on employment, economic growth, and community development across the continent.
