In a significant development, the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) has announced the additional successful release of two abducted prospective corps members from Akwa Ibom State.

The victims, who were kidnapped in Zamfara State while en route to the NYSC orientation camp in Sokoto State, have now regained their freedom.
Eddy Megwa, the Director of Press and Public Relations for NYSC, shared this positive news in an official statement released on Thursday. The release marks a crucial milestone in the efforts to secure the safe return of the eight graduates who were abducted on August 17, while traveling in an AKTC bus on a highway in Zamfara State.
The initial incident, which left the nation in shock, occurred just four months ago, leaving eight graduates and their driver in captivity as they headed to Sokoto State for the mandatory youth service program.
The NYSC, in its statement, expressed its commitment to ensuring the safety and well-being of all corps members. The successful release of two more prospective corps members brings the total number of those freed to four, including the driver.
