In a recent revelation by the Actors Guild of Nigeria (AGN), veteran actor Zack Orji, has successfully undergone two brain surgeries and is currently in good health.
Emeka Rollas, the National President of AGN, made this announcement, dismissing false rumors of Orji’s demise.
Rollas expressed frustration over the proliferation of misinformation, particularly in the age of the internet. He condemned those who spread rumors about Orji’s death, highlighting the insensitivity of such actions.
£”For somebody to wake up and say that Zack has passed on, is inhuman,” Rollas stated.
Addressing concerns about Orji’s condition, Rollas reassured the public that Orji is not in dire need of attention. He explained that Orji only requires a post-surgery evaluation abroad, for which funds are being raised. Rollas emphasized Orji’s resilience, noting that he is in good health.
The fast-spreading rumors regarding Orji’s death surfaced on Thursday, thereby prompting Emeka Rollas’ response to debunk the claims.
Recall that Orji had collapsed on December 31, 2023, and was immediately admitted to the intensive care unit of the National Hospital in Abuja.
Subsequently, he underwent a surgical operation at a private hospital.

The Minister of Arts, Culture, and the Creative Economy, Hannatu Musawa, had, earlier this year, revealed that the actor underwent brain surgery.
Ms Musawa after her visitation to the ailing actor at a private hospital in Wuse, Abuja, called for Nigerians’ prayers and support for the ailing actor.
Musawa, expressing sympathy for the actor and his family, stated that the actor underwent neurosurgery on January 1st.
She also described the ailing actor as a national asset, saying, “We will do all we can to support him. We solicit the collective prayers of Nigerians because he is like a part of our families. We see him as a national treasure.
“This is not only about the Ministry I represent; Zack Orji has been in the industry for decades, laying the foundation for Nollywood. Now that he is sick, our administration is committed to giving him the necessary support to save his life.”
Ngozi Orji, the actor’s wife, expressed appreciation to the minister for visiting. She mentioned that her husband had been moved from the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) of the National Hospital in Abuja to save his life.
Ms Ngozi appealed for prayers and assistance from well-meaning Nigerians.
The 64-year-old actor collapsed in his home toilet on New Year’s Eve and was promptly transported to the ICU at the National Hospital in Abuja.
