Controversial Nigerian actor turned pastor, Yul Edochie, has responded to the barrage of criticisms he received following his erroneous prophecy about the outcome of the AFCON 2023 final.

Edochie took to his Instagram page to address the backlash he has received following the result of the Afcon final, 11th February: “It is well. Thank you, Super Eagles. Getting to the finals is as good as winning,” he stated, displaying resilience in the face of adversity.

“Win or lose, good or bad, we’ve been here. I love my country Nigeria. Better days ahead. Giant of Africa.”

Prior to the match against the host country, Ivory Coast, on Sunday last week, the actor had predicted that the Nigeria Super Eagles would defeat the Elephants of Ivory Coast in the final.

“Today’s game will not get a penalty shootout. Nigeria will comfortably defeat the Ivory Coast,” he said.

The actor had launched and online Christian service, ‘True Salvation Ministry‘ in January,  revealing that he had answered the call of God.

“It’s time to answer the call of God Almighty. It’s time to fully engage in His work. To spread the true message of God. Tune in and be transformed,” he said.

He unveiled his commitment to begin actively participating in God’s work and sharing the gospel through his newly established channel on YouTube which is set to feature sermons and messages aimed at spreading what Edochie described as the “true message of God.”

True Salvation Ministry, as Edochie called it, is a platform expected to be a platform where the actor will deliver sermons, share insights, and engage with a global audience who seek spiritual guidance.
