The Nigerian clime is currently being populated by a generation of thieves and illiterate ritualists, parading themselves as ‘Yahoo Boyz’.

That resort has surprisingly become the new shelter for the youths’ idle desires for money, materials, and luxurious display of affluence.
A Re-‘generation of Yahoo Boyz’
In recent times, and pitiably so, a lot has happened to the shelters provided by formality and due process.
With dubious hacks constantly created to help the trajectory of this generation in sailing through unruffled, their strength to withstand formative challenges now faces unstoppable destruction, blocks by blocks, walls on walls…
It is pitiful that the conventional structure of being, which had formed and is still forming the traditions of the civil path of progress, has been overridden.
It is then clear that what is too complex right now is the law-abiding environment of social responsibility and due diligence which this generation of ‘Yahoo Boyz’ cannot endure.
So, they will find another room, optionally, for their own kind of ‘due diligence’, their own kind of ‘social responsibility’, and set of laws which are in spite of time and social agreements.
In the process of creating their own due process-free world, the Nigerian youths have turned to the illegal ways of thieves, thus, glorifying the act of dispossessing others of their rightfully owned property.
More worse is the scary encouragement for the overlay of the culture of ostentation and undue desire for undeserved wealth which has opened the gate for another kind of comedy!
The Comedy of Popularised Intelligence
Yahoo, as the civilized business of modern youths, is today perceived as an evidence of intelligence. Anyone who engages in it is popularly tagged “wise” and “specially ingenious“.
But laughable is the experience which embodies a set of lazy Nigerian youths who are not only parading themselves as “the smartest creatures“, but are also indulging the belief that their fictitious intellectual capacity makes them stay deserving of the wealth they today possess.

On the contrary, I find it hard to escape from the many questions I have against this belief.
Many of these acclaimed ‘Yahoo Boyz’ were once students who still find it very hard to connect logical ideas embedded or hidden in the simple paragraphs of an English comprehension passage. Many of them cannot even construct a simple English sentence, but they are the same people who are able to take the white man in!
Yes. Maybe 419ing goes beyond that. I however put it to you that most of the people priding in this illegal profession are worse than stark when it comes to being tagged ‘illiterate’.
What of the educated ones?
What new things were they able to add to knowledge to convince us of their educatedness?

What new paths did they break but were rejected? What heroic exploits in the academic world, apart from the cramming attitude of Nigerian studentship?
The truth is, the vacuum is helplessly obvious and the world is obviously being drained with lies and barefaced deceit.
Ritualism and stealing, which are one of the crudest means of making money and results of the desire to hump the ‘easy way’, are the shelter of ‘Yahoo Boyz’ – bloody thieves who are currently parading themselves as “modern day geniuses“.
