The Nigerian music sensation star, Wizkid, also known as Ayo Balogun, has set social media ablaze with his recent act of generosity. The Afrobeat star recently bestowed a whopping N20 million upon Money Gee, a young hype man who crafted a hype song dedicated to Wizkid after the artist had praised him in a video shared on Instagram.

This gesture has since then resulted in a viral trend with fans and celebrities alike joining the Wizkid Hype Challenge. Notable figures such as Iyabo, Kenny Blaq, and Anti Abiba have contributed their own renditions, creating humorous songs and praises dedicated to the “Joromi” crooner.

Iyabo, during an Instagram Live chat, playfully delivered rap lines, jokingly suggesting that Wizkid could be even more generous by showering her with not just 20 million but a whopping 50 million.

Kenny Blaq, the popular Nigerian stand-up comedian, also added his comedic flair to the challenge with an over two-minute video of him hyping Wizkid.

Reacting to the trend, Portable, a controversial Nigerian singer, has questioned why Wizkid hasn’t shown love to Carter Efe, who had crafted a song for him last year. According to Portable, there might be some underlying issues between Carter Efe and BerriTiga that have deterred Wizkid from extending his generosity to them.
