Social media was set ablaze after the first Nigerian gay activist, Bisi Alimi, slammed Spotlite Nation gospel artist Fafowora Joshuaan, widely known as Neeja, for kneeling before Moses Bliss.
On his Instagram post shared today, Alimi said the act carried out by the 22-year-old gospel artist, Neeja, portrays stupidity and idolatry.
In the 58-second video, Neeja was seen kneeling and receiving blessings from his boss, minister Moses Bliss.

His message has left a lot of reactions from social media users who are of the opinion that the action carried out by the young artist has no bad implication for his actions.
“So kneeling down before your pastor is idolatry? If he were a pastor, would this call for widespread criticism?
“Appreciating people can be expressed in any form. Stop making a big deal out of this,” @floraD_explorer noted.
Another X user reacted, “I don’t see anything wrong with the guy kneeling down to receive a prayer. It’s a prayer, not a greeting. God can use him to change the guy’s life,” @Olamideofficial
Obinna_Emelobe twitted, “Even if it were a greeting, I see nothing wrong with kneeling to greet someone you look up to.”
While some netizens said the Neeja action of kneeling down was not necessary and seemed to be an offence, emphasizing that they would not kneel down while receiving prayers from their spiritual leader.
“I don’t kneel before my pastor; I stand when he prays, plus he would never take it if anyone kneeled while he prayed for them. Must I receive prayer grovelling on my knees when you’re not God?” @TarzanNabenene5 described.
Unwana Umoinwang said, “This is totally wrong. Why bow before a man? Are you respecting grace or giving him control over your life?.“
