In the process of combating climate change effect, the Governor of Osun State, Ademola Adeleke, has welcomed the initiative of setting up a state-based gas programme to domesticate the National Gas Master Plan for Osun State.
Governor Adeleke disclosed this after the Managing Director of Allegiance CNG Limited, Mr. Deji Afolabi, and his team paid him a courtesy visit at his office in Osun State on Wednesday.
“I directed relevant members of my cabinet to liaise with the management team of Allegiance CNG Ltd. to domesticate the National Gas Master Plan for Osun by setting up a state-based gas programme,” the governor declared.
Adeleke further described how this new development will “address energy challenges, reduce poverty, and contribute to the economic development of our dear state.“
In a statement shared on his X handle, the governor noted that “Allegiance CNG Limited is currently engaged by the Federal Government to convert one million vehicles for the use of compressed natural gas (CNG) under the Presidential Initiative on CNG.
“As the world moves further to embrace the green initiative, the demand for compressed natural gas (CNG) to power vehicles continues to gather momentum. The use of compressed natural gas (CNG) is relevant to several Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), but it is particularly associated with Goal 7: Affordable and Clean Energy.“
