Abuja, Nigeria — Ratel Movement Launches Nationwide Urban Cleanup as VerdarkBlackman Leads Youth in Massive City Sanitation Drive.

A growing civic movement known as The Ratel, led by social justice advocate and digital influencer VerdarkBlackman, has sparked nationwide attention after launching a sweeping environmental cleanup campaign across major Nigerian cities.

Over the past weeks, volunteers under the Ratel banner have been seen clearing gutters, removing heaps of refuse, repainting public spaces, and sensitizing residents in cities including Lagos, Abuja, Port Harcourt, Kano, Onitsha, and Ibadan. The grassroots initiative, powered largely by young Nigerians, has been hailed ias one of the most organic sanitation movements in recent years.

Speaking during a cleanup exercise in Lagos Mainland, VerdarkBlackman emphasized that the project is not political, not sponsored, and not tied to any government agency:

“We are doing this because we are tired of complaining. If we want cleaner cities, we must take responsibility. The Ratel Movement is here to prove that young Nigerians can lead the change they want to see.”

A market woman in Kaduna said:
