After a temporary cessation of nationwide demonstrations which had started since August 1, protesters in Abuja have hit the roads again on Saturday, August 10, with larger reinforcement.

The demonstration, which initially began on August 1 and expected to end in August 10, is an expression of displeasure against prevailing hunger and economic crisis in Nigeria.
According to observers, a growing number of demonstrators were seen converging on the Central Business District areas, including Eagles Square.
Many of them were chanting slogans such as “End hunger” and “Reverse fuel subsidy removal” as they flood the Federal Capital Territory streets.
An unnamed source revealed that a heavy presence of security operatives had already been stationed in strategic areas since Friday, August 9.

Recall that there had been silence since Wednesday after security operatives heavily cracked down on key organizers of the #EndBadGovernance protests and other participants majorly through arrests.
