Nigerian rapper Folarin Falana, popularly known as Falz, has recently disclosed a proposal he once received –to become a sperm donor.
The artist opened up about this bizarre encounter during a guest appearance on the ‘I Said What I Said’ Podcast.
Falz recounted the surreal moment when someone close to him approached him with the request. He revealed that the individual suggested he donate sperm, assuring him that he wouldn’t be burdened with parental responsibilities.
In response, Falz swiftly dismissed the proposition, expressing discomfort at the mere thought of being a biological father without any involvement in parenting.
“Someone had asked me to be a sperm donor before. She said, ‘Just donate sperm, you don’t need to worry about parenting.’ I said, ‘You are joking.’
“I refused. It is a bit of a joke, like I know who you are and I would just close my mind?” Falz shared during the podcast.

“Sperm Donor”
Becoming a sperm donor involves several steps and requirements to ensure the safety and ethical considerations of both the donor and potential recipient.
Donors typically need to be between 18 and 40 years old, although this can vary by sperm bank. They must also provide detailed information about their medical history, including any hereditary conditions, diseases, or health issues.
They are also required to undergo genetic testing to screen for hereditary diseases or genetic disorders, after which a thorough physical exam is often required to assess overall health and reproductive fitness.
Donors must undergo screening for sexually transmitted infections to ensure the safety of the donated sperm, as well as drugs and alcohol test to ensure they are not under the influence during donation.
