The Duke of Sussex, Prince Harry and wife, Meghan, on Sunday visited ‘The Delborough Lagos’ in Victoria Island, Lagos, as part of their official tour to Nigeria to promote Invictus Games and mental health.
Prince Harry and Meghan, yesterday met with the Nigerian businessman and owner of ‘The Delborough Lagos’, Dr Uzochukwu Stanley in Abuja.
The couple’s major purpose was to be in the country for a three-day visit to promote Invictus Games, where Prince Harry played a seated volleyball match with Nigerian Army veterans, mostly wounded in battle against the country’s Islamist insurgency, on Saturday.
Harry’s team at the Officer’s Mess complex in Abuja played off in an exhibition against a team led by Nigeria’s chief of defence staff, Gen. Christopher Musa.
The Duke and the Duchess were visiting the West African nation, Nigeria, for the first time on the invitation of the Armed Forces of Nigeria.
The British royal citizens began their three-day tour by visiting Lightway Academy, which receives support from their Archewell Foundation, to train young girls affected by conflicts in Nigeria, before going on to meet with the nation’s military officers.
The British Royal couple visit to Lagos on Sunday was their last lap of their three-day visit to Nigeria.
Addressing the press while welcoming the couple at the State House, Marina, Sanwo-Olu commended Prince Harry and Meghan for the work they are doing with Nigeria’s military men, especially on issues around mental health.
He said the visit to Nigeria was very impressive and informative especially for his determine efforts to see that people suffering from mental health, particularly those in the military, are adequately cared for and compensated.
The governor further assured that the present administration in the country will continue to promote peace and unity among various ethnicity in the country.
He said Lagos, like Abuja and other cities in the country are playing prominent roles in uniting the country and ensure there peace and harmony at all time .
Sanwo-Olu further disclosed that Prince Harry and his spouse are always welcome to Lagos at any time they wish.
