The Rivers State Police Command has arrested three alleged armed robbers who were fleeing after their operation on Tuesday.
Before the arrest of the alleged armed robbers by the security operatives, it was said that the suspects had caused unrest at the Bishop Okoye Street, Mile 3 Market, Diobu, when they forced their way into the shops of traders who had displayed their commodities for sales in the market.
According to TNN publication, Grace Iringe-Koko, the Police Public Relations Officer, said, after verifying the incident, that the fleeing suspects were captured by security personnel attached to the Olu-Obasanjo Police Division.
However, Iringe-Koko gave the description of the armed robbers as a four-man gang – one of whom was able to escape while the other three were arrested. She also added that the investigation is ongoing.

More so, a trader in the market who goes by the name Rachael told newsmen that “we were in the market when we saw a Sienna vehicle with four occupants brandishing guns with their heads out of the windows of the vehicle.
“There was serious chaos in the market when we saw them as they drove with speed into Bishop Okoye Street while being chased by police officers.
“Some persons sustained injuries during the incident, while some traders’ goods were destroyed as they tried escaping through the market.”
Another trader informed reporters that the gunmen were intercepted and arrested at Abuja-Bye/Olu-Obasanjo road.
