A faction of the Labour Party has picked Ezenwafor as presidential candidate after Peter Obi has been given the candidacy from the party.

THE Political quargmire in the Labour Party, LP took another dimension yesterday as its acting national chairman, Calistus Uju Okafor yesterday announced ambassador Jude Ezenwafor as the Presidential candidate for the party ahead of 2023 Presidential election.

Okafor who announced Okafor as the candidate to fly the flag of the party next year at the Excel Hotel and Resort, Garki 2, Abuja, described the candidate as “a man of integrity.”

Ezenwafor, former Anambra State Chairman of LP emerged through what Okafor described as affirmation during the party’s primary, with members drawn from across the country.

Speaking on the Presidential candidate, Okafor said, “Having made all the requirements of the party, we hereby affirm you to be the presidential candidate of the Labour Party come 2023.”

The LP Acting National Chairman who noted that he was not fighting the former Anambra State Governor and the Labour Party Presidential candidate, Peter Obi whom the other faction of LP had presented as its presidential candidate, said “I am not against you. My doors are open.

“I am fighting for what is my right. I am not fighting my brother. Those who think I’m being used should have a rethink.”

Speaking with Journalists after his emergence, Ezenwafor disclosed that he was on “a rescue mission.”

According to Ezenwafor who was Senior Special Assistant to former Governor Willie Obiano said that with the level of insecurity in the country, “Nigeria needs to be rescued. Labour is leading a revolutionary course, Labour party will win the general election.

“Our party is going to take over Nigeria and bring back the glory Nigeria needs.

“I have been in the corridors of government for the past 20 years. We are here on a rescue mission,” he said.

Ezenwafor who worked with former Governor Chinwoke Mbadinuju; former Governor Chris Ngige, also served under former Gov. Peter Obi for four months.

That will be the most disastrous political move Peter Obi would ever make if he returns to PDP to accept a running mate slot from Atiku. The current buzz around his candidature stems from the fact that he appears to be the only candidate speaking the language of our perceived new Nigeria and as an individual, he doesn’t have any known political baggage that could dent his character, so it is better for him to “ride or die” alone than to return to “Israel” else like Lot’s wife, he would become a pillar of salt; dead, irrelevant and totally useless. By the way, the makers of our constitution rendered the VP’s office inconsequential and of no effect from the word go. What did Atiku achieve as VP? As brilliant as Prof Osibajo, what has he been able to influence as VP? Obi will not be different. The VP in Nigeria is largely ceremonial and anyone occupying that office who is perceived or assumed to be acting in a manner that suggests he knows more than the President would be impeached and disgraced out of office. Is that what Obi wants for himself? Certainly, the Peter Obi movement is divine. Now is the time for Nigerians to prove that they are ready to take back their country. Let no one deceive you that unless a candidate belongs to either the PDP or APC he cannot win election. This is a lie being sold to Nigerians to plant despondency within our ranks. Election is about numbers and instead of going back to the old ways, let’s work to give Obi the numbers and see if he won’t be returned winner. At the moment, Nigerians have a duty to prove to the two major political parties that the people have rejected them especially now that it has become obvious that people just want to be President to boost their ego and not to lead the country out of the sociopolitical doldrums into which she has been confined by years of economic rape and misrule. Nigerians arise and stay woke. PETER OBI 2023 is possible. Let no one tell you otherwise

The Office of the Vice President is insignificant but it won’t be a bad idea….. having him as a V P for 8 years might still end up being to our advantage and the healing we seek for our land might just come…

Vice doesn’t have a say! They are figure heads…. Especially if u run under a northerner! Na only if he run under tinubu😂 cos that man no go last 3yrs lol! But on a real, let him stay in his party, we will come out in mass to vote, even if he doesn’t win he would pull a substantial amount of vote, and people will begin to take him serious, Then we can try again! But we can’t say we won’t win, Let’s just try.

He is too good to be a vice and probably end up very insignificant like the present I personally think we as a people have the power of ONE VOICE and presidency will resonate from another party for a change. The MOVEMENT starts now. If he takes a vice from the North that Northners love and trust. Then the true CHANGE of power that must change hands will become inevitable.

Bam talk 👏👏 if another igbo man is selected as a running mate to atiku, that’s the end of peter Obi’s presidential ambition cus eastern votes will be shared. I’m of the opinion that Obi stand behind Atiku for now as vice presidential candidate. From there he can contest the presidency. My opinion though
