The musician-cum-boxer, Portable, beat his ‘Phenomenal’ competitor and actor, Igwe 2pac, to the ground after a serious duel organised by Heritage Boxing Entertainment yesterday at the Landmark Beach in Victoria Island, Lagos State.

The outcome of the duel resulted in favour of the ever gallant Habeeb Okikiola, the popular Portable, when few hours ago this morning, he was announced the winner after earning more points over his opponent.
The fight which started around 1am today ended before 2am as it only lasted for about 40 minutes, with Portable carrying his belt of victory home while covered in sweat and fatigue. Many fans and netizens have applauded the ingenuity of the duo for staging what look like an entertaining show as well as a money-making scheme for both artists.
Unarguably, it is apt to say the show goes beyond that, as it also looks like an allegorical explanation for active preparation and diligence in anyone’s fight against penury.
Prior to the fight in the early hours of 26th December 2023, Habeeb Okikiola, famously named Portable, had taken to his Instagram page to remind the world in a reel about his intention to beat poverty, referring to Charles Okocha, also known as Igwe 2pac, as the poverty. He made clear of his planned effort to win the fight as a sign of winning poverty come 2024.
Also, during his podcast interview which saw Sunkanmi Omobolanle, the great young actor and podcaster, as one of the hosts, Portable emphatically revealed, “for inside life na poverty we dey fight…Okay now, who wan broke? When you fake it to make it, o le make e (meaning You can’t make it). So, I don’t want to go broke. Dem no dey celebrate failure.” This he used as a prelude to why he must come out victorious in his scheduled fight with Igwe 2pac.
As he at the end beats ‘poverty’ to its knees, Portable is no doubt a visionary, an intelligent creative, and practically a modern-day philosopher of the pop world who is always poised ready to beat the possible odds. By his recent activities, he has proven to see beyond the ordinary and is also striving to help his fans see the same way.
