On Sunday, the 11th of February, Mary Nidjebu was said to have been killed by unidentified gunmen in her residence in Urdu, Warri, Delta State.

According to the report, it was said that a photo frame vendor, who goes by the name Fejiro, had come to deliver an artwork to the deceased.
While waiting for Nidjebu to return from seeing her male friend off, the report stated that the deceased was out showing her male friend, whose details have not been disclosed, her newly built house.

During the time when the incident was going on, as claimed, Nidjebu resisted them, and ran into the building she was recently building, locking the gate. The building shared a fence with her newly built house.
Immediately after she locked the gate and denied the alleged kidnappers entrance, they opened fire directly at the gate. That was when Mary met her sudden death.
At that point, multiple bullets penetrated her body, and her car was also damaged by the bullets.
However, when they could not have access to where Nidjebu was, as claimed, they decided to invade her newly built home and made away with Fejiro.
