 The shooting at Lekki and killing that occurred at the tollgate was not the reason for the curfew.

Opinion about the happenings in Nigeria is been translated by opinions in different understanding and like they say, everyone is entitled to their opinion, Our Opinion writers belief that the shooting at Lekki was not the reason for the curfew according to an opinion columnist who spoke to golden Page he said;

“It was the discovery of the palliatives, when the federal government realized that the people were distracted by chasing the palliatives then they knew that it was their best chance to ends the protest because the deviation of attention from the protesters create tension that lead to different state calling for curfew”.

The curfew was a diplomatic way of stopping the protest. I can tell you that even after the shooting, people would have still been on the street protesting because killing the protesters would have aggravated the protesters and create more reasons for them to continue the protest.

You can now see that the government is aware of the hunger and they are using huger as a weapon. Remember people died trying to loot food items. If a citizen can die because of a pack of indomie, sugger and expired food stuff, then you can imagine how endemic the hunger has become dangerous in Nigeria.

It’s logical and rational for Nigerians to vote during elections and also logic and rational for Nigerians to collect N5,000 before going to vote for the person who gave them the money. Nigerian politicians are never going to encouraged their electorate to vote legitimately because every other time they vote their vote doesn’t amount  anything.

You can see that hunger is a weapon they use. So how can you tell them to eradicate poverty? A country were more than 105 million people live in abject poverty, how do you tell those people to be legitimate in voting? That is why when they discover the palliatives they abandoned the protest and rushed to go and loot the food first.

That is the same approach they use during elections. Food and N5,000. Nigerian become destitute in their own country because they make policies that have no meaningful interpretation or gainful value to the people that they are making the policies fore, the ordinary Nigerians.

Many of those on the street are those who were okada riders, keke drivers and so on, when government banned all this activities without a tangible solution to those operators, you are likely to have this kind of result, increase in poverty because the ordinary man have no other means of providing for his family, they become destitute.

The only way to get Nigerians to believe in a vote system during election is to rebuild the economy. Provide system that carter for them, give them a chance to enjoy the benefits of the economy. So the question about the protest and how the protest come to an end was because the protesters were divided by their own economic class and position.

There were protesters who could be out on the street for as long as it will take without economic effects. And there were others who knows how bad the protest affects them economically because they knows they protest would not yield any results, so they prefer not to join.

And then they are a group of the protesters who are affiliated to political parties and as beneficiaries of their parties they were mobilize for specific target and that is what you see playing out. It’s has become clear that our political leaders know our weaknesses and they are using it against them.

They federal government were the one giving people the lead to warehouses stock full of palliatives to distract them as a way of ending the protest.
