Ondo State governor, Lucky Aiyedatiwa, has announced plans to procure vehicles and gadgets for security agencies in the state to boost safety.
He made this declaration on Monday after a meeting with key security officials in Akure, Ondo state capital.
The governor stressed the critical need to fortify the security architecture within the state.
He emphasized his administration’s commitment to supporting security agencies with necessary tools and resources.
He emphasized the importance of purchasing vehicles to address mobility challenges in policing, saying:
“We will support our security agencies by providing tools for them and, more importantly, more operational vehicles for them to be able to move around, enabling them to navigate diverse terrains and respond swiftly to security threats.”

The Governor also highlighted efforts to improve the welfare of Ondo citizens, including providing vehicles to Permanent Secretaries and offering palliatives to ease economic challenges.
To support the legislative arm, Aiyedatiwa presented official vehicles to the Speaker of the State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Olamide Oladiji, and Deputy Speaker, Rt. Hon. Abayomi Akinruntan.
Speaker Oladiji appreciated the Governor’s commitment, emphasizing that the vehicles would enhance their legislative responsibilities and strengthen ties between branches of government.
Deputy Governor, Chief Olayide Adelami, Secretary to the State Government, Hon. Tayo Oluwatuyi, Chief of Staff to the Governor, Prince Segun Omojuwa, and others attended the event.
However, Ayedatiwa emphasized the importance of collaboration among stakeholders for the overall development of the state.
