In response to the tragic killing of Mr. Taiwo Oyekanmi, the Director of Finance in Governor Dapo Abiodun’s office, the Ogun State Government has announced a N50 million bounty for anyone providing information that leads to the arrest of the perpetrators.

State Commissioner of Police, Abiodun Alamutu, confirmed this significant development during a telephone conversation with Our Reporter on Friday morning.
In an official statement released, the Ogun State Government expressed its determination to bring the culprits to justice and has urged the public to come forward with any relevant information.
The statement reads, “The Ogun State Government has announced a reward of fifty (50) million naira for anyone with information that could lead to the arrest of the killers of the state’s Director of Finance and Administration (DFA), Mr. Taiwo Oyekanmi, on 29th November 2023 in Abeokuta.”
The government assured the public that any information provided would be treated with utmost confidentiality and urged citizens to contact the specified telephone numbers: 08037441955, 08033074371, 08081775020, 08034062773, 08032136765.
Reports indicate that Oyekanmi was tragically gunned down on top of the NNPC Bridge shortly after leaving a bank, where he had gone to make withdrawals in preparation for the governor’s budget presentation.
The incident occurred on Wednesday afternoon, leaving the entire community in shock. He was then rushed to the State Hospital, Ijaye, Abeokuta, where he was pronounced dead.
Governor Dapo Abiodun, during a condolence visit, affirmed the state government’s responsibility for the unfortunate event and assured the family of continuous support for their welfare and well-being.
Meanwhile, the police have disclosed that the killers were individuals with insider knowledge. Authorities believe the robbery and murder were premeditated, questioning how the armed robbers were equipped with a sledgehammer to break into the bullion van.
The Ogun State Government, in collaboration with law enforcement agencies, is intensifying efforts to bring the perpetrators to justice, ensuring the safety and security of its citizens.
