National Identity Management Commission (NIMC) has unveiled the fees associated with modifying personal data linked to the National Identification Number (NIN) on their newly launched mobile application.
This announcement comes after NIMC introduced a convenient avenue for Nigerians to rectify inaccuracies in their NIN records, including name, date of birth, and phone numbers, via the mobile app.
Previously, individuals seeking to amend their NIN details encountered significant challenges, often having to physically visit NIMC offices nationwide.
Following the rollout of the mobile app, users expressed concerns about technical difficulties, prompting NIMC to address these issues and clarify the associated fees for data modifications.
The Commission has established varying fees for specific self-service options, enabling users to update details such as name, age, date of birth, phone number, and email address linked to their NIN.
In a statement shared on its official channels, NIMC emphasized the convenience of the new self-service platform, stating, “Good news!!! You no longer have to go to a NIN enrollment center to modify your NIN record. You can modify your date of birth, name, address, email, and phone number on the NIMC SELF-SERVICE APP. What are you waiting for???”
To access the NIN data modification feature on the National Identity Management Commission mobile app, users are instructed to:
1. Visit: https://selfservicemodification.nimc.gov.ng
2. Register for an account if not already done
3. Log in using existing credentials
4. Provide NIN, last name, and email address
5. Access the data modification channel to make necessary corrections
