Hailing from Okene in Kogi State, Mercy’s early life was a nomadic experience, courtesy of her father, Daniel Johnson, a former naval officer. The fourth of seven children, she embarked on her educational journey in Calabar, Cross River State, before her family’s relocation to Lagos allowed her to continue at the Nigerian Navy Primary School.

Her secondary education was split between the Rivers State Secondary School and the Nigerian Navy Secondary School in Port Harcourt, Rivers State, setting the stage for her later accomplishments.
