As crisis looms in Kano State following the conflicts arising from interim court orders in the state over the Emir tussle, the Chief Justice of Nigeria (CJN), Justice Olukayode Ariwoola, has directed the Chief Judge of the Federal High Court, and the Chief Judge of the State High Court to appear before him.

This was contained in a statement from the CJN on Wednesday.

Justice S.A. Amobeda of the Federal High Court in Kano had issued an order to evict the Emir of Kano, Muhammadu Sanusi II, from the Kofar Kudu Palace.

On the other hand, Justice Amina Adamu Aliyu of the Kano State High Court issued an injunction that protected Sanusi from being evicted from the palace.

Justice Aliyu also restrained security agencies from harassing Sanusi and others.

Recall Kano Emirate has been engulfed in crisis following the emergence of two monarchs as result of the decision of the state house of assembly to amend the Emirate law that divided the traditional council into five Chiefdoms.

The assembly directed in the new law that the Kano Emirate should be returned to under one Emir .

The new law therefore empowered the governor of the state, Abba Kabir Yusuf to re- appoint the former Central Bank of Nigeria CBN governor, Sanusi Lamido Sanusi back to the throne.
