The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has announced the commencement of Direct Entry registration nationwide, including selected foreign centers.
In a statement released by its spokesman, Fabian Benjamin, JAMB declared that the registration process begins on Wednesday, February 28, 2024, and will run until Thursday, March 28, 2024.
This registration cycle is open to foreign candidates seeking tertiary education in Nigeria through the Direct Entry mode. JAMB reiterated its commitment to ensuring fairness for all candidates, regardless of their background or status.
However, the Board issued a stern warning, stating that it would not process applications from awarding institutions that have failed to verify A’level certificates presented by candidates for admission in 2023.
According to the statement, candidates not awaiting results must have uploaded their A’ level qualifications, O’ level results, and DE registration templates during registration.
No Direct Entry candidates will be considered for admission until their claimed results are uploaded and verified by the awarding institutions on the Board’s Central Admissions Processing System (CAPS) mail platform.
Candidates awaiting A’level results from IJMB/JUPEB/NABTEB must upload their Admission Letter and Registration Template during registration.
Additionally, applicants with Cambridge certificates dated before 2018 should directly contact Cambridge for verification.

The verification process, as specified by the awarding body, may take up to 28 days, after which the results will be forwarded to the Board and reflected on the candidate’s e-Facility profile.
The Board has also provided an opportunity for candidates to upgrade from UTME to Direct Entry. This option is available only for candidates whose Direct Entry results have not been released at the time of UTME registration.
Candidates must have indicated during UTME registration that they are awaiting A’level results, with the necessary particulars supplied and contained in the uploaded registration template.
JAMB encourages all eligible candidates to adhere strictly to the registration guidelines and deadlines to avoid any complications in the admission process.
