Following the worsening security situation in Anambra state, the Coalition of South East Youth Leaders (COSEYL) has called for the resignation of Governor, Chukwuma Soludo, citing his alleged inability to address the state’s security challenges.

This comes against the backdrop of the Thursday night attack that resulted in the death of two policemen, and two civilians, and the abduction of several others.

In a statement by its President General, Goodluck Ibem, COSEYL on Saturday, expressed deep concern over the security issues plaguing the state and demanded the immediate arrest of those responsible for the heinous attacks.

“It is worrisome that such a deadly attack could be executed during the Christmas period, a time highly respected and revered by Christians all over the world.

This is an affront to the people and government of the state, and we will not take it lying low. Those hoodlums must be arrested and prosecuted immediately,” the statement emphasized.

COSEYL therefore gave Governor Soludo a 48-hour ultimatum to resign and tender an apology to the people of Anambra State for what they perceive as leadership incompetence and a lack of capacity to steer the ship of the state from protracted insecurity.
