Grammy-nominated Nigerian sensation, Oyinkansola Aderibigbe, popularly called Ayra Starr, has recently shared her plans on what she would do if bestowed with presidential powers, even if only for a day.
Ayra Starr asserted women’s worth during an interview with MTV UK, saying, “If I was president for a day, I would make sure women don’t have to pay for anything. Everything free. All the bags, all the jewelry, food.”
“Women and children won’t have to pay for anything. Always and forever!” she said.
The interview also ventured into astrology, eliciting laughter as she jestingly cautioned against her phobia for certain stars: “Oh I know this one. I’m kidding. I love all the star signs, so nobody should come for me – but run away from a scorpion! Run away.”

Social media influencer, however, was quick to slam her for promoting what he calls a ‘dependency and entitlement mentality.‘
In a thought-provoking tweet, Regha raised questions about the consistency of Starr’s vision, juxtaposing her aspirations with her past actions and professional endeavors.
Regha’s tweet dissected Starr’s proclamation that, if given the opportunity, she would ensure women and children receive everything for free during her hypothetical presidential tenure. Drawing from Starr’s humble beginnings, Regha posited that the songstress, who reportedly sold vegetables and fruits in her early years, likely did not offer her goods gratis to female customers.
Also, in response to Ayra Starr’s statement, Regha highlighted the absence of any “free women concert or tour” organized by Starr, emphasizing that attendees typically purchase tickets for such events.
He wrote, “Ayra Starr when she was selling vegetables & fruits back in the day probably didn’t give ’em to her female customers for free; She also has never done “A free women concert or tour”, everyone buys tickets, but she wouldn’t want women to have pay for anything if she becomes president? Someone that’s working to earn her money is out here promoting dependency & entitlement mentality, the hypocr!sy st!nks.”
