Pop sensation, Innocent ‘2Baba‘ Idibia, has acknowledged the impact of his longstanding partnership with management label, Now Muzik, as they both part ways.
2Baba conveyed appreciation for the pivotal role Now Muzik played in his career trajectory. He credited the support of Omorogbe and his team as instrumental in his success, emphasizing the collaborative efforts that brought his talent and vision to fruition.
“I know it’s a cliche but every good thing must come to an end,” he said. “I owe a lot of my career success to Efe and his team at Now Muzik.
“Everything I’ve been able to achieve is as a result of the support of so many people and organisations working with me to bring my talent and vision to life. Now Muzik is one of such companies and I couldn’t be more grateful to them.”
The decision to part ways marks the end of a fruitful collaboration that has spanned over two decades as revealed in a detailed announcement shared on Instagram.
According to the official statement, the mutual disengagement between 2Baba and Now Muzik, helmed by co-founder and chief executive, Efe Omorogbe, comes into effect immediately.
In response to the whole play-out, Omorogbe expressed gratitude for the opportunity to work alongside 2Baba, describing their relationship as extending beyond professional collaboration to a profound friendship.
Reflecting on the journey shared with 2Baba, Omorogbe expressed pride in the brands they built together, the music they created, and the countless fans they entertained over the years.
He said: “I am grateful to 2baba for the trust, and for the friendship,” the statement read. “I am proud of the brands we built together, the music we made; the fans we entertained. 2Baba is one of the greatest Nigerian musicians of all time and it really is an honour to have had the opportunity to walk side by side with him, watching and helping him make magic over the past two decades. My team and I look forward to now supporting from the sidelines, and continuing to advocate for any and everything 2Baba.”

Having signed with Now Muzik management following his departure from The Plantashun Boiz in 2004, 2Baba’s tenure with the label has been characterized by remarkable achievements and artistic growth. However, as the pop star embarks on a new phase of his career, he will now be represented by Hypertek Digital, his own imprint.
Now Muzik, founded by Omorogbe during his undergraduate years at the University of Lagos in 1994, has served as a nurturing ground for over 30 talents, accumulating more than 100 awards over 25 years and amassing a collective music stream exceeding one billion.
Omorogbe expressed gratitude for the milestones achieved with 2Baba, emphasizing their contributions to the growth and evolution of the African entertainment industry.
The announcement of 2Baba’s departure from Now Muzik marks the end of an era while signaling a new chapter in the illustrious career of one of Nigeria’s most iconic musical figures.
