Nigerian singer and instrumentalist, Harrysong, has taken to social media to plead with his former record label boss, Kcee, to settle the longstanding issue of unpaid royalties spanning seven years.
The duo, who fell out in 2016 amid controversies surrounding Harrysong’s decision not to renew his contract with Five Star Music, have been embroiled in a public dispute ever since.

The discord began when Five Star Music accused Harrysong of breaching his three-year contract by failing to release the stipulated three albums. This disagreement led to legal actions and, subsequently, Harrysong’s arrest on two occasions. Now, in a recent post on X, the ‘Reggae Blues’ hitmaker disclosed that Kcee has been allegedly receiving 100 percent of his royalties for hit songs like “Reggae Blues,” “Baba for the Girls,” “Samankwe,” “Better Pikin,” and “Ofeshe.”
In his heartfelt plea, Harrysong referred to Kcee as a “bully” and requested a fair distribution of royalties, urging him to consider granting him a reasonable percentage. “I started this by begging, na beg I dey beg am. I know he likes to bully; he’s the power mike. Help me beg him; the songs are mine. He should at least be fair to give me what is rightfully mine,” Harrysong expressed in his post.
The artist also highlighted a previous ordeal, alleging torment, attacks, and abuse when he sought personal growth after leaving Five Star Music. He shared that a friend even wished for his demise. However, Harrysong expressed gratitude to those who stood by him, emphasizing the importance of knowing the true story amid false narratives.
In a related development, Harrysong advised record labels to refrain from tyranny and destroying young talents in a bid to assert power and supremacy. He called for a change in the industry culture and expressed condolences on the passing of former Marlian Music Record label artist Mohbad.
As the plea for unpaid royalties continues, fans and industry observers eagerly await Kcee’s response to Harrysong’s heartfelt request for fairness and justice in the distribution of the proceeds from their collaborative musical endeavors.
