Hard work pays as the Nigerian national team was today grandly welcomed and individually honoured with the Member of the Order of the Niger (MON) award which took place at an event organised by the Nigerian government.
As an honour and acknowledgement of their hard work, the Super Eagles this morning received recompense and due recognition in Abuja. The many gifts given to them were pieces of land, flats, among other praiseworthy rewards.
Although they were not able to bring home the cup, yet their first runner-up position seems to be worthy of the national celebration held today at the State House in Abuja.
Recall that the Super Eagles put in hard work in the just concluded 2023 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) in Ivory Coast, their immense efforts and diligence have now been paying off after the Federal Government’s decision to recompense them.
During the event, the Nigerian AFCON stars, including the coaching staff, were seen decked in green regalia from head to the sole of their feet. Their dresses were uniform and it was interpretative of the national origin of the team.
With the constant smiles popping all over the President’s face, it is not news any longer to say that Tinubu was glad to have had the players back to Nigeria, particularly in Abuja where they were hosted with honour.
The appreciative stride taken by the Nigerian government today is seen as a form of encouragement that will further buoy the players’ resilient spirits even in the face of criticism and lack of gratitude for their efforts on the pitch.
