Ondo State Commissioner for Information and Orientation, Bamidele Ademola-Olateju, has declared that Governor Rotimi Akeredolu responded to the final call while in Germany.
The commissioner, in a statement to the press, revealed that the governor succumbed to complications arising from an extended battle with prostate cancer.
Governor Akeredolu, aged 67, passed away on Wednesday morning after a prolonged health struggle.
Ademola-Olateju mentioned that additional information about the funeral arrangements for the late Akeredolu will be released by the family and the state government.
The statement read: “With a heavy heart, the Ondo State Government announces the tragic passing of our beloved Governor, Arakunrin Oluwarotimi Akeredolu, SAN, CON.
