Ondo State Governor, Lucky Aiyedatiwa, has sworn in new members of his cabinet with a charge to ensure good governance of the people of the state.
Today, Governor Aiyedatiwa appointed the Head of Service, six commissioners, and eight special advisers at a ceremony held at the International Culture and Events Centre in Akure.
The newly sworn-in members of the State Executive Council are as follows:
Commissioners: Mr Emmanuel Igbasan, Engr Razaq Obe, Mrs Omowumi Isaac, Dr Olukayode Abraham Ajulo, Mr Akinwumi Sowore, and Mr. Oyeniyi Oseni.
The Special Advisers: Hon Olugbenga Omole, Mrs Olamide Falana, Hon Alabi Johnson, Summy Smart Francis, Dr Olawunmi Ilawole, Pastor Babalola Joseph Ayoade, Comrade Abdulganiyu Muhammed, and Prof. Simidele Odimayo.
Governor Aiyedatiwa, while entreating the appointees to live above board in their respective ministries and parastatals, equally charged them to be servant-leaders, and not lords in their offices.
He further said that the entire state is looking up to their wealth of experience, skills, and competencies in their new assignments.
“It is no more news that our country is facing hard times economically and as a state, we are not immune to these challenges.
“As commissioners and special advisers, you are coming on board at a very critical time. It, therefore, behoves you to come up with creative ideas and policies geared towards alleviating the sufferings of our people,” the governor stated.
Gov. Aiyedatiwa also commended the speaker of the House of Assembly, Honourable Olamide Oladiji and members of the house for speedy screening and confirmation of the commissioner nominees.
He stressed that the action is a testament to the bidding faith, mutual trust, and good working relationship between the executive and the legislature in the state.
He therefore congratulated the commissioners and the new head of service whom he described as the public service engine room.
It would be recalled that the governor had sacked members of the state executive council that he inherited from his predecessor, late Governor Rotimi Akeredolu, after taking over power in the event of death of the former governor.
