The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) received a significant boost in its fight against economic and financial crimes among Nigerians and diaspora, as French Colonel Laurent Baile, an expert in Cybercriminality, expressed unwavering support during his visit to the EFCC’s corporate headquarters in Jabi, Abuja.

On Tuesday, December 5, 2023, Colonel Baile commended the EFCC’s relentless efforts in combating corruption and economic crimes. During a courtesy visit to the EFCC’s Executive Chairman, Ola Olukoyede, discussions revolved around strengthening collaboration to tackle cybercrimes and associated criminal activities.
Baile, accompanied by Verin Emmanuel, Interior Attache at the French Embassy, highlighted the importance of joint investigations and intelligence sharing in the global fight against cybercrimes. The French expert congratulated Olukoyede on his appointment and urged for increased cooperation between the EFCC and international partners.
In response, Olukoyede expressed gratitude for the support, and emphasized the EFCC’s commitment to focusing its mandate for the benefit of Nigerians. He underscored the overarching goal of fighting economic and financial crimes to foster economic growth, stimulate development, create jobs, and remove obstacles to sustainable progress. Olukoyede reassured that the EFCC would operate professionally and adhere strictly to the rule of law.
