In a groundbreaking move towards ensuring efficiency, the Federal Government is set to launch the automation of passport applications starting January 8, 2024. Minister of Interior, Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo, announced this significant development during an inspection of Nigeria Immigration Service (NIS) facilities in Abuja on Monday.

Minister Tunji-Ojo emphasized the government’s commitment to a comprehensive automation system, allowing Nigerians to apply for passports online without human contact. The training process is already underway, and the automated system is set to go live on January 8.
