Nigeria Info FM Abuja fell silent as news of the tragic demise of one of its esteemed presenters, Deborah Ohamara, surfaced.
The unfortunate incident occurred on Airport Road in Lugbe, Abuja, where Ms. Ohamara’s vehicle collided with a sand-filled heavy-duty truck, claiming her life.
The incident, reported by a Facebook user, Nten Ekpang, unfolded as Ms. Ohamara was driving from the airport when her car was struck from behind, leading to a fatal collision with the moving truck. Mr. Ekpang revealed that the late presenter succumbed to the injuries sustained in the crash.
The management of Nigeria Info FM took to social media to express their deep sorrow over the untimely passing of their cherished colleague.
In a statement on their Facebook page, the radio station described Ms. Ohamara as a beloved broadcaster, sister, and friend, acknowledging her brilliance in the field.
“With a heavy heart, in total submission to the will of God, we announce the passing of our dear colleague, sister, and friend, Deborah Ohamara (Debbie), a brilliant and loved broadcaster with Nigeria Info Abuja,” the statement read.

Deborah Ohamara’s journey in broadcasting started at the Cross River Broadcasting Corporation, CRBC TV, where she began as a newscaster. Her career path led her to 105.5 Paradise FM Calabar, where she served as a presenter.
In addition to her versatile talent, Ms. Ohamara excelled as a multilinguist, voice-over artist, translator, and communicator, amassing over a decade of experience in newscasting, reporting, and editing.
At Nigeria Info FM Abuja, she hosted the Sunday morning show, blending entertainment, news, chit-chats, and meaningful discussions that captivated and enlightened listeners.
Beyond her radio career, Ms. Ohamara was also a singer, releasing a five-track Decision EP before her tragic demise, featuring titles such as “Decisions (ogbajugodoro),” “The Prayer“, “Osarome“, “Time“, and “Upside Down.”
The radio station opened a condolence register to allow the community to share their condolences and memories.
