A new detail has emerged in the tragic boat accident that claimed the life of Nollywood actor Junior Pope Odonwodo, popularly known as Jnr Pope, on Wednesday.
In a live Instagram video, movie producer Stanley, who was reportedly present during the incident, blamed the accident on the carelessness of the boat drivers. Stanley, who was also returning from a film shoot, alleged that the boat operators were recklessly swerving and “showing off” on the water, leading to a collision between the two vessels.
“It was all negligence,” Stanley stated while revealing causes around the death of Jnr Pope. He further revealed that the speedboat lacked life jackets, which were apparently a separate rental service.
The graphic details continued with Stanley describing the arrival of the wife of the late actor, Jnr Pope, at the scene and her witnessing the retrieval of his lifeless body from the water. Sadly, Stanley added that two other crew members remain missing and efforts to locate their bodies will resume tomorrow with the help of naval divers.
