Plateau State Governor, Caleb Mutfwang, on Friday urged the citizens to embrace peace in order to build the state together.
In the message shared on the governor’s social media handle yesterday by the Director of Press and Public Affairs, Gyang Bere, the governor acknowledged the need to live in peaceful community while he enjoined other Christians all over the world to commemorate the death and resurrection of Christ.
However, he commended Christians who follow Christ’s teachings and observe the Lent, believing that such obedience will further strengthen their relationship with God.
He however urged the followers of Christ by stating that “it is time to set aside their differences and leverage their diversity in Christ to build a peaceful, united, and prosperous Plateau for all.”
Meanwhile, in his message, he appealed to believers continue to live in love, sacrifice, and peace which are the major pillars of Easter as they symbolise the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ.
“Let it serve as a reminder of God’s boundless love, demonstrated through the sacrifice of His Son, Jesus Christ,” he said.
He also reminded that, while Christians celebrate the great events, they should “live out their faith in God and in their interactions with fellow citizens, not letting Easter pass as a mere ritual.”

Easter, according to him, offers a priceless chance to reflect on God’s purpose for humanity’s salvation, which was made possible by Christ’s resurrection.
“With God’s help, we will overcome the challenges facing our state. Let us prioritise peace and collaborate to address our shared concerns,” Mutfwang encouraged.
