The Abuja chapter of the Association of Bureau De Change (BDC) operators have closed their businesses due to a scarcity of US dollars.

The association’s chairman, Abdulahi Dauran, linked their decision to the US dollar scarcity. He pointed out online banking transactions and cryptocurrency as factors worsening the scarcity.

According to LEADERSHIP reports, despite the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) clearing off the verified backlog of foreign exchange claims owed to foreign airlines on Tuesday, the value of the Naira at the official market significantly declined.
Some trades closed at N1,513 per dollar at the official end of the market.
