The All Progressive Congress (APC) in Kaduna state has reiterated its support for Governor Uba Sani’s suspension of Hajiya Maryam Suleman, urging him to remain focused amidst distractions.
The party also declared its total support to the governor for disclosing the debt profile of the state.
The APC said the action was commendable and showed the governor’s commitment to transparent and inclusive governance.
In a statement issued by the State Publicity Secretary, Salisu Tanko Wusono yesterday in Kaduna said the party commended Governor Sani’s open and inclusive leadership style, evident in the diverse representation at the Kaduna Town Hall meeting held last Saturday.
“The event provided a platform for discussing the state’s challenges, progress, and plans, reflecting the administration’s dedication to citizen engagement,” according to the statement.
APC further commended Governor Sani’s recent initiatives aimed at alleviating economic hardship and fostering progress in Kaduna State. “These include grants to 7,500 SMEs, support for 5,000 farmers, cash transfers, and food distribution to vulnerable households.
“Governor Uba Sani’s update on security affairs during the Town Hall, including the establishment of more Forward Operation Bases, instils hope for a safer future,” the party said.
In response to recent actions that contravened the APC constitution, the party affirmed the indefinite suspension of its state women leader, Hajiya Maryam Suleman, popularly known as Mai Rusau.
“This decision reinforces the party’s commitment to upholding discipline and integrity within its ranks,” the statement read.
“APC Kaduna urges the Governor to remain focused amidst distractions from detractors and reiterates its steadfast support for the Uba Sani administration.”
It would be recalled that Governor Uba Sani had been at loggerheads with his predecessor, Nasir El-Rufai, following the declaration of the debt profit bequeathed to his administration.
