After a report was filed against SP Ibrahim Ishaku, DPO Abraka, and others for misconduct, the Delta State Police Commissioner of Police, Abaniwonda Olufemi, ordered the removal of police officers involved in the investigation.
According to the report filed against the police personnel, it was said that the sum of N2.465 was extorted from an undisclosed victim by DCO 2 Abraka Division.
The report stated, “the Commissioner of Police Delta State, CP Abaniwonda Olufemi, on receipt of this disturbing report, directed the DPO Abraka to report at the headquarters alongside the DCO 2 SP Ibrahim Ishaku.
“Following the reported case of extortion of the sum of N2,465,000 by the DCO 2 Abraka Division.”
However, immediately on hearing about the report, the CP ordered “the removal of the DCO 2 SP Ibrahim Ishaku with immediate effect, and the officer issued a query for misconduct.
DSP. Edafe Bright, Police Public Relations Officer, shared a post on Delta State Command X handle stating that the Commissioner of Police, Delta State, CP Abiniwonda, reiterates that the Command under his watch will deal decisively with any recalcitrant officer who carries out any form of misconduct, extortion, or incivility to members of the public.
He assured the public of the readiness of the command under his watch to deal decisively with any erring officer, and this would serve as a deterrent to others, and no officer found wanting would be spared.
