In a powerful condemnation of the recent wave of violence in Plateau State, Bishop Mathew Kukah, has expressed deep concern over the escalating insecurity in Nigerians.
Bishop Kukah emphasised on the need for unity among religious leaders to discourage vigilantism, stressing that both Muslim and Christian leaders continue to use their moral authority to guide their communities away from taking the law into their own hands.

This followed the horrific killing of over 150 individuals in Plateau State on Christmas Eve by suspected terrorists.
In his poignant message titled ‘Blood and Crucifixion on the Plateau,’ Bishop Kukah described the assailants as emanating from the deepest abyss of hell, embodying the darkness that seeks to extinguish the joy of Christmas from thousands of people on the Plateau.
“The invisible men came to the Plateau again, bearing their gifts of death and destruction. They are children of darkness, sons of Satan,” Bishop Kukah said.
He joined those who are advocating for a united front against terrorism, urging citizens to resist the temptation to take justice into their own hands.
