The former Presidential Candidate, Atiku Abubakar, has condemned the recent killing in Mangu local government, Plateau State, Nigeria.
While condemning the brutal act of the terrorist in his X handle, formerly known as Twitter, Atiku called out security agencies to take proactive measure to tackle the ongoing crime war against the citizens of Mangu Local Government, and across the other parts of Nigeria.
“It is imperative that our security agencies exhibit a higher degree of proactiveness, particularly in light of the recurring incidents of banditry in Plateau and across various parts of the country,” he said.

He returned on the lack of anticipation and preventive measures against insecurity crises is a matter of great concern. He added that “It is high time that our security forces rose to the occasion, ensuring the safety and well-being of our citizens.“

Furthermore, he expressed his grievances on the rate at which violence and killings in the Mangu local government increase, despite the imposition of a 24-hour curfew. He identified as “threat to the peace and unity of humanity.”
“This heinous act of violence, where innocent lives are being brutally snatched away, homes set ablaze, and communities thrown into chaos, is a direct affront to the values of peace and unity that we hold dear.
“I stand in solidarity with the victims and their families during this difficult time. Let us all come together to ensure that such tragedies are not repeated,” Atiku obliged.
