Arsenal’s latest victory over Manchester United at Old Trafford has helped them set a new Premier League record.
Arsenal’s 2023/24 squad has made Gunners history by surpassing the record as one of the greatest squads in the club’s and Premier League history after reaching 27 wins this season.
Arsenal were able to regain their position at the top of the League table by beating Manchester United 1-0 at Old Trafford in the penultimate match of the current campaign.
The decisive goal, courtesy of former Brighton man and Belgium international, Leandro Trossard, propelled Arsenal back to the top spot with one more gameweek remaining for them in the League this season.
Thanks to the win at Old Trafford, the current Arsenal team reached an incredible milestone and surpass a record by winning the most matches by a Gunners’ squad in a single Premier League season.
Arteta’s men clinched their 27th league win of the campaign, surpassing the 26 games won by Arsene Wenger’s Invincibles (a team that went 49 Premier League games unbeaten in the 2003/04 season), the last Arsenal team to be crowned champions of the Premier League.
Despite the record number of wins, Arteta’s side could still fall short of being crowned champions of England this season, with Manchester City capable of winning the Premier League title – if they win their remaining two matches, regardless of what Arsenal does.
Arsenal not at their best but still did more than enough to seal the game.
Mikel Arteta’s side were not at their best at Old Trafford, but still held out under second-half pressure to keep the battling Manchester City.

Manchester City still know that wins in each of their final two games will seal top spot, but Mikel Arteta’s side have at least pushed them all the way.
United wasted their serious chances as little as they came with Rasmus Hojlund wasting a gilt-edged chance to open the scoring for United after Scott McTominay robbed Thomas Partey on the edge of the Arsenal box, as the Denmark striker slipped and fired over.
Arsenal made him pay soon after, too, as Kai Havertz took advantage of Casemiro’s failure to play him offside and squared for Leandro Trossard to steer home.
Towards the latter stages of the game, United huffed and puffed as the heavens opened, but Arsenal held out, and now must beat Everton on the final day while hoping for a City slip-up against either Tottenham or West Ham.
