The President Senate, Godswill Akpabio, has dismissed the rumour making the round that he was planning to create an office for the Wife of the Senate President.

Senator Akpabio debunked the insinuation at a crowded event held in his honour to celebrate his 61st birthday in Uyo, Akwa Ibom State over the weekend.

He described the speculation as untrue, adding that his focus at the senate is to be the voice to the voiceless, not only to his senatorial district but to Akwa Ibom And Nigeria as a whole since he assumed office as Senate President.

The Senate President urged Nigerians to be patient and steadfast with President Tinubu-led administration, adding that the present administration has the political will to execute life-changing projects for the people.

The ex-governor of Akwa Ibom expressed his condolences to the families affected by the Kaduna bomb blast, assuring that he would personally lead a delegation of senators to visit their homes and offer condolences.

“The Senate will provide all the required assistance to support the families of the victims of bomb blast during this difficult time.” He promised.

Akpabio thanked his colleagues and other guests who graced the occasion to celebrate him.

Speaking at the occasion, Nigeria’s First Lady, Oluremi Tinubu, congratulated the Senate President on his birthday, describing him as an exceptional leader with qualities that promote democracy, and accountability.

“Your leadership qualities have shown that the interests of Nigerians matter to you, particularly the vulnerable members of society,” She eulogized.

Governor Pastor Umo Eno of Akwa Ibom on occasion also sent a goodwill message to felicitate Senator Akpabio on his birthday and assured him of his unwavering support, regardless of political affiliations or ethnic background.

The governor further emphasized the need for all Akwa Ibom people and stakeholders to transcend ethnic politics and unite in supporting one another for the progress and advancement of the state, irrespective of political differences.
