Nigerian rapper William Orioha, popularly known as 2Shotz, recently opened up about the struggles he faced following allegations made against him by actress and model Beverly Osu during the 2013 edition of Big Brother Africa.

In a recent interview with talk show host Tejubabyface, the veteran rapper claimed that Osu’s accusations of abuse, abortion, and an alleged engagement severely damaged both his career and personal life.
During her time on Big Brother Africa: The Chase, Beverly Osu had told fellow housemates that she was in a relationship with 2Shotz, alleging that he physically assaulted her, left her with scars, and even pressured her into terminating a pregnancy. The claims, delivered tearfully on live television, quickly gained traction despite the limited reach of social media at the time.
2Shotz revealed that the fallout was devastating. He said promoters stopped booking him for shows, endorsements dried up, and friends and colleagues distanced themselves. “After that interview, nobody wanted to associate with me. I lost everything—shows, businesses, cars, even my house,” he recalled.
The rapper further disclosed that the weight of the accusations pushed him into depression. At his lowest point, he nearly drowned himself at Lekki Beach before bystanders intervened. “I almost ended my life because of lies,” he admitted.
2Shotz insisted that he was never engaged to Beverly Osu, claiming their only connection was her appearance in one of his music videos. He alleged that after the shoot, she pursued him obsessively. “She was never my fiancée. She was just someone everyone in the industry knew at the time,” he said.
Following the collapse of his career in Nigeria, 2Shotz relocated to the United States with just $150 to his name. There, he rebuilt his life by learning photography and cinematography. Today, he says he is in a much better place but reflects on how the scandal almost cost him everything—including his life.
“Imagine if I had drowned that day. My story would have ended with lies,” he said.
Once celebrated as one of Nigeria’s finest hip-hop acts, 2Shotz maintains that the false accusations marked a tragic turning point in his career, highlighting the lasting damage that unverified claims can cause.
