As its 10th annual edition, AMVCA yesterday recorded a lavish moment with African creatives converging for the recognition of their artistic contributions in featured genres.
Most startling is the blatant portrayal of singleness by each artist who chose to grace the stage without their spouses!
What in Hollywood is an abominable part of their show, AMVCA, the biggest on-screen actors’ award in Africa, was held in Lagos and Nigerian actors and actresses walked the red carpet alone?!
Although no one is certain whether there is an injunction against that in America, yet actors always arrived at the Oscars and other award ceremonies mostly as couples, thus promoting a culture of family peace and re-union.
Speaking of capital revenue through popular patronage, Africa Magic is patronized majorly by families. Even as statistics may not be completely proud of my summation, there is no arguing over the truth that single people hardly subscribe to the much acclaimed channel (of beautiful African stories and imaginations).
All of these, yet the AMVCA actors climb their stage as singles, thereby promoting a culture that is not proud of family values.
