Born into a Christian family, Kumuyi’s upbringing was marked by a foundation of faith and devotion. Despite encountering challenges to his faith during his secondary school years, Kumuyi’s spiritual journey took a transformative turn when he experienced a profound encounter with the Gospel message.
On April 5, 1964, at the age of 23, he embraced Christianity wholeheartedly, setting the stage for a lifetime of service to God and humanity.

Education and Academic Pursuits
Kumuyi’s intellectual prowess and dedication to academic excellence distinguished him early on.
After completing his secondary education at Mayflower School in Ikenne, Ogun State, he pursued a degree in Mathematics at the prestigious University of Ibadan.
In 1967, he graduated with first-class honors, emerging as the overall best graduating student of his year. His commitment to scholarship continued with post-graduate studies in Education at the University of Lagos, further enriching his academic repertoire.

Teaching Career and Ministry
Combining his passion for Mathematics with a fervent desire to spread the Gospel, Kumuyi embarked on a teaching career that would lay the groundwork for his ministry.
His tenure as a Mathematics lecturer at the University of Lagos provided a platform for him to impart knowledge and instill Christian values in the hearts of his students.
In 1973, Kumuyi’s journey took a pivotal turn when he initiated a Bible study group with 15 students, catalyzing the birth of the Deeper Christian Life Ministry. Despite facing challenges and opposition, including expulsion from the Apostolic Faith Church, Kumuyi remained steadfast in his commitment to preaching the Word of God.
In 1982, the ministry officially became the Deeper Life Bible Church, a beacon of hope and spiritual renewal for countless individuals worldwide.
Global Impact and Ministry Expansion
Under Kumuyi’s visionary leadership, the Deeper Christian Life Ministry has flourished, with a presence in numerous countries and a congregation of over 800,000 affiliates.
