Comedian and actor, Lawrence Oluwaseyitan Aletile, famously known as Seyi Law, has reaffirmed his unwavering allegiance to President Bola Tinubu’s administration.
Through a statement shared on his verified social media handle, Seyi Law urged fellow Nigerians to rally behind the leadership of Tinubu, expressing optimism for a brighter future under his governance.
While likening Tinubu’s government to the biblical narrative of Moses leading the Israelites to the Promised Land, the comedian emphasized:
“I would rather stay with a Moses through the wilderness to Canaan than eat meats and drink wine in slavery in Egypt at the expense of my children’s future.”
Seyi Law further defended his stance, highlighting the imperative of constructive criticism and proactive engagement with government policies. While acknowledging the frustrations voiced by many Nigerians, he highlighted the importance of informed advocacy and collaboration in steering the nation towards sustainable development.
In his critique of governmental efficacy, Seyi Law lamented the lack of effective communication channels between government agencies and the populace, emphasizing the need for transparent dissemination of information regarding governance agendas and initiatives.
He called upon state governors to prioritize the long-term interests of citizens over short-term appeasement measures, advocating strategic investments in key sectors such as agriculture, energy, and healthcare.
Furthermore, Seyi Law admonished against the temptation of reverting to populist measures such as fuel subsidies and artificial exchange rate adjustments, cautioning against the detrimental impact of borrowing against the future for immediate gains.

Seyi Law’s unwavering support for President Tinubu’s administration has gathered criticism from Nigerians across the country, especially as the cost of living keeps getting costlier by the day.
A recent report shows that Nigeria’s inflation rate has surged to 29.90% in January 2024, marking a notable increase from the previous month’s 28.92%. This 0.98% rise underscores the persistent challenge of inflationary pressures within the country’s economy.
Moreover, on a month-on-month basis, the report also indicates a 2.64% headline inflation rate for January 2024, representing a 0.35% increase from December 2023. This further underscores the accelerated pace of price increases, particularly in essential commodities.
Food inflation, exacerbated by global geopolitical tensions such as the ongoing conflict between Russia and Ukraine, remains a critical concern. The sharp increase in food prices has triggered widespread protests across Nigeria, with citizens in various states demanding urgent solutions to address the economic crisis.
In response to the soaring cost of living, protests erupted in Niger, Kano, Kogi, Ondo, and other regions, reflecting growing frustration and discontent among the populace.
Following these agitations by dissatisfied citizens, the Federal Government has, last week, convened a high-level meeting led by the President’s Chief of Staff, Mr. Femi Gbajabiamila, to address issues surrounding food security and alleviate hardships faced by citizens.
Key stakeholders, including the National Security Adviser (NSA), Mallam Nuhu Ribadu, and several ministers, converged on the Presidential Villa in Abuja to strategize on tackling the challenges posed by soaring food prices.
Among those in attendance were the governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria, Yemi Cardoso, and ministers responsible for education, finance, agriculture, and budget planning.
Speaking after the extensive deliberations, Minister of Information and National Orientation, Mohammed Idris, conveyed President Bola Tinubu’s concern over the prevailing situation and reiterated the government’s commitment to alleviating the hardship faced by citizens.
Minister Idris also emphasized that despite challenges, Nigeria has ample food reserve, and efforts are underway to address supply chain disruptions and unlock stored food reserves to ease the burden on the populace.
