Retired Deputy Clerk to the National Assembly, Olayide Owolabi Adelami, has been confirmed as the new Deputy Governor of Ondo State on Thursday.
After several deliberate examination, the Speaker of the Ondo State House of Assembly, Olamide Oladiji, announced Adelami as the Deputy Governor of the State.
Earlier, yesterday, the House of Assembly sequel to the submission and consideration of selection of the nominees, the committee Chaired by the Speaker, Oladiji had conducted screening exercise for the nominees at the Assembly complex.
During the report submission, the Deputy Speaker of the House, Akinruntan suggested the verification of the appointment of the prospects whom he asserted have been properly screened.
However, Akinruntan affirmed that the nominee has responded to all questions raised by the Committee in a very eloquent and explicit order.
According to a news report, “Adelami possesses the required experience, Charisma and the much needed exposure to function effectively.”
After all duel process was concluded the Speaker, Oladiji confirmed the appointment with a congratulatory message to the Deputy Governor designate.

He charged Adelami to be at his best as he carries his duties as the newly appointed governor, and the house will support his administration.
Reacting, Mr Adelami expressed his gratitude to Governor Aiyedatiwa for nominating him. He then assured him of delivering his duties diligently without betraying his emotion and confidence the governor has on him.
He appreciated the lawmakers for their efforts during the screening exercise, while also adding that he would prioritize promoting understanding among the arms of government.
